"I'm sorry to say I can't recommend the Alderley Edge Hotel. I stayed here for a business trip to the local business park, booked for two nights. The first night was fine — I slept well. My room (55, second floor) ran warm, but opening the window solved it. In the morning I noticed the shower pole had come away from the wall and was just hanging there. I flagged it at reception. "This place is quaint but not super welcoming. The cottage was cute but not the comfiest beds. We didn’t get a code to check in and didn’t realise the reception would be unmanned. The continental breakfast was a bit odd - self service without clear instructions. Wasn’t all put out at 8am and then a girl came and brought some more things. Had to make our own coffee. "

"Parking is £25/night and a 5min walk to the hotel- bear that in mind if you have a lot of luggage. Apart from that - excellent all round. To make it better - mini fridge in the room, even if there were a surcharge we would have paid it."

"AC was noisy and didn't work very well. Breakfast was one of the worst I've had. Mattress and pillows were hard. The lighting was bizarre - either everything on or everything off. Pretty much the only good thing is the location."

"The hotel is clean and modern. However, I found menu items overpriced for the quality of the food. Also the dispenser in the room for hand lotion and hair shampoo and conditioner were empty. The front staff at reception were fast and knowledgeable which I appreciated."

"Breakfast was fine. Staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. Very disappointed that we were not advised in advance there would be major building construction at the hotel. More so right outside our window. In addition to having carpentry work on the doors with tools blocking the corridor inside. A strange phenomenon was the toilet. My wife and I both disabled found it near impossible to flush the toilet. The flushing button was difficult to access and use especially at night. "
