It was just what we needed for 1 night stay, we can see it is being refurb and will look amazing when done, rooms where adequate all newly done. Nice comfy bed, close to places to eat if the restaurant closed. Will we definitely go back again for a longer stay when going to Chelmsford.

Rooms was on the small side. 4' 6" bed, but very comfortable. Room didn't have any workable ventalation. All work surfaces paint gloss grey, but were sticky, In the bath room everything worked. But shower didn't drain quickly, so could flood the room. No curtain or blind at window, likewise for the single window at the rear.. Had to get kettle replaced, as it blew the fuses. On Saturday night alot of noise from the occupants of rooms above until 2.30pm. Glad we were only staying 2nights.

Good car parking space, comfortable bed, could maybe do with modernising but overall not a bad stay. 1 downside was there was a bit of noice as it’s just off the A12 and the doors rattled.

The most likeable thing about this hotel is the staff. Lovey people, went out of their way to make me comfortable. The hotel could definitely do with an upgrade though, especially for business travel stays. Brilliant for on site parking.

The room was okay but only thing that put us off was the fire alarm kept going off more than once as well, so felt uncomfortable staying the night

Place very dated, should be classed as a Motel, very basic, room cleaned and towels changed once in 7 days, had to change rooms after the 1st day, as electrical heater not operating and kettle faulty, unable to open curtains as viewed by car park.

Staff at reception pleasant enough. Could be a great place .. very big ! And possibly in process of renovation ? Not quite as pictures suggest sadly. Just not as clean as it really could be . Also tv in our room very poor and only couple of channels worked .didnt use it enough to worry thankfully,despite staying 2 nights . Bed seemed clean enough just general room/ shower cleanliness .

Parking was good, plenty of spaces and places to park. Staff helpful It was clean but no frills. I had no hot water but they fixed it and the water was hot then cold. They have no place to eat and finding a good take away to deliver was challenging. I was in a large van so hard to pop out to get food. Very basic

Arrived and seem to take an age to check in.... Then got to the room and an immediate power cut. Not the hotels fault, and took over an hour to get back on. Manager was very apoligetic. TV in a real stange place, bathroom was clean and looked refitted but...low quality fitting... strange! All worked ok, Kettle was corded, which meant i needed to take it all to fill it with water. Bed was clean and comfy and once the heater got to temp not too bad.
