A beautiful cosy, friendly hidden gem in Witney. We were greeted by a friendly face as we walked in and took in the cosy local atmosphere. Then shown to our room. I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting great things being abover a pub but the room was inviting and well sound proofed. I was very impressed. Staff were helpful when ordering a taxi to our concert and gave us a friendly welcome when we returned that evening. Would recommend !!

Property itself and the staff were excellent. Spotlessly clean, even had its own kitchen area, so more like a studio flat. Breakfast was great, and super friendly lady who manages the property and also cooks. The only very minor point that anyone could possibly mention was our bathroom floor had obviously at some time had a leak/flood and the was minor lifting of a couple of the edges of the laminate flooring, BUT nothing serious or to be concerned about. Room was cleaner than ever stayed in before. Towels and bedding looked brand new. Room was huge. Bathroom was too. Breakfast was plentiful and choice was great. Very accommodating staff. Truly the perfect stay.

Stayed while helping a family member move to Eynsham. All staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The location was great for walking the Thames Path and was accessible by bus from Abingdon or Witney. We ate at the hotel as well, and the quality was excellent.

Fantastic stay in the cottage - immaculately presented room with loads of space and a very nice selection of snacks. The staff in the Inn were incredibly welcoming and made for a totally relaxed break. Food at dinner and breakfast was delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough

I stay here regularly for work, alway very good. Staff are incredibly nice and work hard to make the stay comfortable. Rooms are always clean characterful and comfortable. food is great. Would highly recommend.

What can I say it’s a lovely experience to stay here big comfy bed, fluffy white towels and a absolute gem of a restaurant, it will always be my first choice when staying in the area to eat or sleep everything is 5*

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and because my wife had historic family connections with Stow on the Wold. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The evening meal was of a very high standard and the room was comfortable. All in all a very enjoyable stay. We appreciated spending a few hours in Stow and visited other Cotswold villages.

Love this place. The village is beautiful and full of Cotswolds charm, whilst the pub is an absolute delight for foodies. Tremendous value given the quality of the accommodation and the food. Our room was luxurious and spacious. Loved the 100 Acres toiletries, the farmhouse-style breakfast and the super-comfortable bed. This is a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds.

Absolutely lovely stay at The Royal oak. Beautifully decorated throughout, with a really warm and homely feel. Staff were welcoming, dinner and breakfast were first-class and my room was spotlessly clean with a great bathroom and comfy bed. Would definitely return, I stayed for work but it would be a lovely place for a weekend away.
