"The location of the hotel is good, close to Malioboro Street (the main shopping area). The staff welcomed us with a cool and refreshing drink. However, the condition of our bathroom does not match the 5-star "luxury" rating. The vanity and the bathroom door are basically covered by some adhesive materials. It feels like a 2-star hotel!
The buffet breakfast is decent, offering a variety of choices. Nevertheless, I did expect more since it's a 5-star hotel.
Overall, the hotel did not live up to my 5-star expectations! "
"The shops and the shopping malls are very closed by . The staffs are very friendly .
The only thing the hotel need to fix is changing the thin toilet paper to better one. "
"Poor. I don’t usually write reviews, I booked this hotel as I have stayed in Hyatt’s around the world, this is by far the worst. Staff poorly trained, trying to order room service on the phone was impossible as they didn’t understand. The pool was dirty. Staff more concerned with the Ramadan buffet guests who are not staying at the hotel rather than their actual guests. Alcohol is also an issue here, we asked for a bottle of wine to take to our room and we were present with it in a black bag like it was contraband!! Serve alcohol or don’t, but don’t make western guests feel guilty for ordering something on the menu. Finally the rooms are poor, clearly not upgraded since the 80’s, there is however a refurbishment program underway which is long overdue. "
"This so far has been the worst hotel during our long trip to Asia. The hotel is closed to a mosque and everyday we were woken up at 4:30 am during the praying call. It was not disclose to us and to anyone who is a light sleeper it was not so good. I didn’t have a good sleep for my tour the next day and end up with a huge migraine. The hotel does have a policy to charge you for extra towels. I’ve never been to a hotel that charges extra for towels!!!"
