"Be aware there is a SECURITY DEPOSIT which Bloomfields requires prior to check-in. It is stated within the house rules for the accomodation, which I did not read as I am travelling on business and treated the accomodation as a hotel. The security deposit is more in total than a 2-day stay. The deposit can be paid via an app called "Paymob", or a bank transfer, or cash. Use of the app led to my bank (a North American bank) freezing my credit card due to suspect activity. I had to resort to withdrawing cash, with the associated bank fees for doing so. I was told they could return the cash if I waited unti 12 on the day of my check-out, as their operational staff did not work until then. Unfortunately I had to leave at 8:00 AM. The money is going to be returned via bank transfer, again with associated fees. I did request the security deposit be waved, and was told it was "company policy". The entire episode cost me 2 and half hours on a day when I was preparing for a business conference. A colleague stayed in a similar apartment run by a different company, and had no security deposit and no hassle. Hotels.com has indicated the process is legitimate and I will get my deposit returned, but I feel it is important for travellers like myself to understand the potential hassle that awaits if you make this booking."

"We booked this place for three guests, as it was advertised to have a double bed, a single bed, and a sofa bed. When we arrived, there were no bedding fabrics for the sofa bed, so we had to use a duvet as a sheet. Even though they knew there were three of us, they only provided three towels. It felt unhygienic, especially since they use the swimming pool as part of their advertising to justify the price. The door passcode was hard to see because it goes dim when not in use. When I asked for help, their response was written in capital letters as if they were annoyed. That was very poor customer service, and it put me off asking for any more help during our stay. After checking out, I received a message demanding 300 AED for a “lost access card.” I explained that I left it on the table, but they insisted it wasn’t there and even sent a video after checkout claiming it was found inside the sofa bed, which we had already checked. It felt like they were just trying to get extra money. This fee was not mentioned anywhere in their terms and conditions. When I refused to pay, they threatened to report me to the Dubai tourism department and repeatedly called me while I was boarding my flight, which was very stressful. The only positives were that the place was clean and the location was convenient for the Etihad Arena, which was great for the UFC event. However, you still need to take an Uber to get anywhere else like Yas Mall, so the location wasn’t a huge advantage."
