"Friendly traditional Inn, good full English breakfast. Great location to walk into the City along the river, free parking also a bonus. Rooms are comfortable but the age of the building perhaps explains why the bathrooms and showers are dated. Enjoyed my second stay there and outside of building has been freshly painted. "

"A quirky room,clean,somewhat cramped....distance between mattress and floor wider than distance between corner of bed and drinks table. Bit of a squeeze...a larger person would have to roll over bed to get to window. Facilities good but personally no need for TV...it's York why stay in watching TV?"

"The place itself was lovely a little dated in the bedrooms but so clean, short walk to the shambles, food at the hotel was fantastic excellent price, can recommend the Eggs Benedict for breakfast, outside lovely seating area right by the river and last but not least staff are so welcoming very attentive 5 star service will be going back again "

"It was a good hotel, we were visiting family in the area so was a nice base. We had stayed at other nearby hotels so wanted to try this one. It was okay for one night, we booked in for dinner. The menu is extremely limited for dietary requirements, with things listed as vegetarian that weren't and food didn't match description. We didn't book breakfast, again as similar wanted a much refresher breakfast rathan than a fry up. Gave 4 stars as was a lovely bed, very comfortable! The bathroom...
