The Judges Lodging was a great place to stay in York. The location was excellent and made it easy to walk to many of the main sights, restaurants, and shops. The building has so much character and history, which made the stay feel unique compared with a typical hotel. Our room was comfortable, the atmosphere was charming, and we really enjoyed being right in the heart of the city. We would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting York.

Property and room were wonderful … except be aware that if you have a courtyard room, it will be noisy in the afternoon and evening as the hotel bar and restaurant are very busy…. Breakfast was wonderful!

Lovely home-y hotel in York. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Room is clean, only deducted a star because there is some up- keeping that can be done (a bit of peeling wallpaper, etc). Very well located, about a 6 minute walk from the train station and right in the centre of the old town. Breakfast included in the room rate was great.

A lovely historic property well-located to all of the York sites and walking distance from the rail station. The rooms were large and nicely appointed with most modern conveniences one would need. It’s a lot of steps up and no one to help with bags, so keep that in mind. Had dinner in the pub one night. A bit of a warren of small rooms and some of the staff was not well trained or didn’t understand English well, but the food was hot and tasty.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location.. Beyond that, the hotel is being run extremely poorly. The management clearly lacks a basic understanding of hospitality and guest service. The cleanliness also needs serious attention, as the overall condition of the hotel falls far below what you would expect. There is a lot of work to be done to bring this property up to an acceptable standard.

The building is lovely, and the room was comfortable and nicely furnished. The location was excellent, being in easy walking distance of the tourist attractions and of the station. The staff were great and there was a nice selection of teas on the drinks tray.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel this year. Everything was good the only thing i would say was the bedroom was much smaller this time than we had in. March quite difficult to get around .

Very nice hotel in a great spot in the middle of the old city. Great breakfast and very friendly staff. The room was not very big, but it was ok. Bathrobe and slippers were available - and you could get fresh milk for your coffee or tea from the reception. A great place to stay.
