Hotel Riu Palace Swahili
8/10 Good
"Overall it's a beautiful property. The rooms, pools, beach and other amenities are all very nice. The main concern we had was that it is essentially a "compound". You can't talk to a nearby town or enjoy local culture because the resorts are all very separated from the rest of the island. We also thought the food was not up to the standard of other RIU Palace hotels. This was our fourth stay at a RIU Palace and the food at the others was definitely better. That being said, the hotel is beautiful, the staff lovely and we enjoyed our stay."
Turaco Nungwi Resort, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We really enjoyed our stay at Turaco. The staff were very friendly and attentive, everything was clean and well maintained, and the food was delicious. There were different activities every day, from crafts and pool games to live music in the evenings. A lovely, relaxing atmosphere and a great place to spend a holiday. We would definitely recommend it!"
The Mora Zanzibar - Luxury All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at The Mora. The resort is beautiful, very well maintained and spotlessly clean, with lovely pools, attractive grounds and a great beachfront setting. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were consistently friendly, attentive and accommodating. They are undoubtedly one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. The food was good, with plenty of variety and a nice choice of restaurants, although personally I would describe it as good rather than exceptional. My main criticism is the pricing of anything outside the standard all inclusive offering. I understand that premium drinks, specialist experiences and certain extras will carry an additional charge, but some of the supplements felt excessive. Relatively ordinary branded spirits attracted significant premiums, and hotel organised excursions could be considerably more expensive than equivalent trips booked locally. For a luxury all inclusive resort, this sometimes created the impression that the basic package was quite tightly defined, with substantial charges once you stepped outside it. My other criticism was the pool loungers, which had only one fixed reclined position and could not be adjusted, making them surprisingly uncomfortable for a hotel of this standard. Overall, a beautiful resort with excellent staff and plenty to recommend it, but the pricing of extras took some of the shine off the all inclusive experience."
JAZ Elite Aurora
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is very big yet beautiful. The rooms are spacious and we were pleased to find a hairdryer in the bathroom. Evening entertainment was great but also easily avoided if required. We also enjoyed the selection of pools and meals on offer! Would highly recommend this hotel."
Amaan Beach Bungalows
10/10 Excellent
"Exellent place to stay. A dreamlike beach view, nice swiming place and beautuful surrounding. Loved the place and enjoyed my time there."
Spice Palace Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Now there are hotels for staying only, convenient location, etc., but this one excels in the long-forgotten personal touch and the joy of hosting and servitude. I have experienced greater care, postcard messages, and cookies to wish you good night. It is also in the best location in Stone Town, where you can access all the highlights of the place within 10 to 20 minutes. Beautifully decorated and a great place to stay."
Z Hotel & Z2 Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We loved everything about Z1. Pool overlooking the ocean was beautiful, poolside service was also great while lounging. Private beach loungers were also really nice with security keeping beach peddlers away. Next door is a little convenience store where you can get cheaper cold beer/soda/snscks. Room was very clean and comfortable and turned over twice daily. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really solid at sexy fish, overlooking the ocean/beach. The rest of the meals are pricey compared to nearby places and I wouldn’t say the quality is much higher. Just fancier plating and garnishes. Not a ripoff by any means but for the price we got better value at local spots off the beach."
Tembo Kiwengwa Resort
