This is a unique property in the Stone Town area of the Zanzibar, close vicinity to the Forodha Park , the hotel is quiet and gives you a feel of the ancient times a great break from the new modern hotels

The property was in a walking distance of all sites in Stone Town. The service and hospitality was excellent. I enjoyed my stay at Al-Johari and plan to stay there if I return to Zanzibar. I highly recommend this hotel!

Great location, amazing architectural history

A wonderful hotel, fabulous location, bristling with architectural history - a stunning building. On the room - there was no safe; bed too big for the room layout (a big bed is a good thing); the mattress was a bit "tired"; TV channels poor - needs DSTV ..... otherwise fabulous

I paid circa $50 for one night here on a work trip. For that price I think it was a complete bargain. Location is great, no night clubs / chickens crowing next door so quiet. I didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment on food (so many choices within a 5-10 min walk). This is not a luxury hotel like a Hyatt or Serena. Instead it’s bursting with Stone Town character, amazing location, nice bed and bathroom with lovely staff. Will stay again and willing to pay a little more.

This place is a rip off. Be aware that they will charge you extra if you pay online under the excuse of “taxes”. It’s only hotel in Zanzibar that does that. I never had to pay any extras for taxes in any other hotel during my 10 days stay in Zanzibar . The hotel is also too expensive. True it’s clean, but still overpriced.

ザンジバルのストーンタウンに行くときは、いつもこのホテルを使用しています。今回で３回目でした。 今回も快適にステイすることができました。スタッフは、とてもフレンドリーに接客してくれ、朝食会場のスタッフもてきぱきと接客してくれました。強いて不満を言えば、Wifiが安定しないところでしょうか。 またザンジバルに行くときは、利用したいです。

このホテルを利用するのは2回目でした。今回も快適に過ごすことができました。 今回も朝早くにザンジバル空港に到着し、ストーンタウンに早く着きましたが、アーリーチェックインをさせてくれ、休憩することができました。 スタッフも愛嬌があり、おススメを聞けば、いくつかいいお店を教えてくれました。 ホテルの周りは、夜間はじゃっかんうるさいですが、まあ我慢できました。またザンジバルに行くときは利用したいと思います。

Despite paying for the booking well in advance, upon arrival I was told that there was no vacancy and that the hotel was fully booked. The manager was not on site and the front desk was unmanned for extended periods. Eventually spoke with the manager who expressed her regret for the situation but everywhere in Stonetown was fully booked so I ended paying for a room at another property that was 5X's the price.

Day receptionist is rude, arrogant, and a liar.

Broken door.. as in there was no metal piece and the entire wood for the lock for chipped off and tried to glue back in type of broken. Bad customer service from the day receptionist. Blamed us and lied to us about 3 different things. THREE!!! ...and wifi never works inside the room.

Rent men slitet, mycket lyhört. Luktade kraftigt av fult/mögel i badrum. Lampor som inte fungerade. Beställde transfer från flygplats via hotellet men ingen kom. Maten helt okej.
