"Great place to stay if getting the ferry from Dar Es Salaam and good space to explore from for a few days. Lovely room and reasonably priced. Non alcohol hotel which I think makes it a bit cheaper than others, which is great value."

My favorite part was the rooftop dining experience and the rooms were so tastefully decorated. Thank you all for a great experience in Zanzibar!"

"Well maintained hotel with easy access to the main road. The hotel is in front of the boat launch for the Prison Island and Nakupenda sandbar tours. It is about 3minute walk to Freddie Mercury museum and Forodhani Garden. The room is spacious with unique old world Arabic feel. The breakfast is with good variety. Definitely a good place to stay. Highly recommended. "

"I paid circa $50 for one night here on a work trip. For that price I think it was a complete bargain. Location is great, no night clubs / chickens crowing next door so quiet. I didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment on food (so many choices within a 5-10 min walk). This is not a luxury hotel like a Hyatt or Serena. Instead it’s bursting with Stone Town character, amazing location, nice bed and bathroom with lovely staff. Will stay again and willing to pay a little more. "
