"This was a very nice, pleasant, convenient, easy stay. The rooms were clean, air conditioned, and had plenty of space for a solo traveler like myself. We actually had had water, which was also nice compared to some places I’ve been. The staff were fantastic, and I especially appreciate their help with a few things I needed help with. "Safari House had plenty of space for our family of five. While not in the heart of Stone Town, it wasn't a far walk (10 min) to get there. Romaine, our host, was quite accommodating. The power and water shut off in the morning and he was over immediately to fix it (we didn't realize it was on a timer and was an easy fix). He also allowed us to store our luggage there after checkout time while we went out for a bit before our flight home. "

"PLEASE BE AWARE. This place overbooks clients so when you arrive they say there is NO reservation under your name. Then they send you to another location of much lower quality. People at the new location confirmed that they do this all the time. It is not a mistake but rather a scam. I left that second location and was lucky to find a nice hotel nearby for the same price. I did get a refund but most people will probably stay where they are forced to stay due to lack of options and uncertainty. I...

"Great area, this is literally the building where Freddie Mercury lived, apartment with unique old zanzibari character, great location - near to beach, stone town and night market, great breakfast. Loved it."
