Hatley castle, formerly the lavish estate of John and Laura Dunsmuir, now serves as an historical site and administrative building for Royal Roads University in the outskirts of Victoria, BC. Having also served a few decades as a military college, the castle is steeped in history and is a great place to spend an afternoon.
