"Out of the way, but I chose that when booking. Rental car definitely needed. Property does look a little old and could use some updating, but was perfect for our group of 5 and we made good use of the washer/dryer at the end of a 2 week trip. Restaurant on site we used quite a bit due to the out of the way location was good, but not great. "

"We had only a one night stay in one of the properties cabins “Cedar” but it was lovely. The grounds are beautiful. There is a extensive path system behind the house and plenty of picture opportunities. "The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have some difficulty with getting the toilet to flush and the staff came up to our room and made sure it was functioning properly. They also were able to print our boarding passes for our return flights for us. The breakfasts offered a wide variety of hot or cold foods and drinks. Staying in Sterling allowed us to visit sites in Glasgow, Ayr and Edinburgh. We only had a 30 minute drive to Edinburgh Airport for our return flights to USA."

"My friend and I stayed here for one night in June. We booked a King Junior Suite to have some extra space. Not sure if we were upgraded but at check in we were given the Bruce Suite. It was quite lovely with large sitting area, that flowed into the bedroom. Also our bathroom was huge, complete with separate shower and bathtub.
