“A Short but Sweet Escape!”

The hotel stay made me want to stay in Fukuoka longer! Simple, yet super clean, efficient and affordable. The rooms were extremely comfortable, with many working amenities, bathtub, heater (it was winter), bathrobe, tv, etc. The room was nicer than the one I currently live in! The breakfast was delicious (you can choose either Western style or Japanese style) I chose Japanese, of course. It was very tasty and filling. And free coffee in the lounge too (not the best, but was good enough).

“Amazing service”

This hotel definitely added to my experience in Fukuoka. Not only were the staff willing and able to help, they were so nice and enthusiastic about it that I felt extremely welcome and comfortable staying there. As for the room, it was ok, it had all your basic hotel comforts, and I wasn't looking for extreme luxury. It was convenient, however, with a desk, internet, small but functional bathroom, and very clean. The location is great, right by a subway stop on the Kuko line. I definitely would recommend this place to others who value high quality guest service!

“Overall a nice place for the money”

The service was excellent and the room was very clean with all the amenities, including a small flat screen TV. The lobby area and lounge are very nice, just not huge, and breakfast was quite good. My only complaint about the room was that there was a small hole chipped through the sink and a piece of molding (several feet long) was missing at the bottom of one wall. These are small cosmetic things but I was suprised they would leave it like that in an otherwise very nice and clean hotel. The bed was a bit hard for me, but I don't know if this is normal for Japan as this was my first time visiting this country. The bathroom was a bit small and tight, but again perhaps this is normal for Japan. Overall a pretty nice hotel for the money.

“I was glad I chose this hotel.”

I was glad I chose this hotel, which I did because of it's location around the corner from Ohori Koen. I went to the park , the reason for returning to Fukuoka, every day. As for the hotel itself, my room, an extra big single, was comfortable and pleasant. With the exception of one (new) desk clerk, the staff was helpful. The breakfasts, for only 1000 yen extra, were extroardinarily good. The one drawback was that I needed to call home in America twice and that can't be done from the room telephone. However the night manager, who is fluent in English, was awakened by the desk clerk and graciously helped me make the calls. I would definitely return to this hotel because of it's location and good value.

“Small but clean”

Small rooms but clean. Good choice if you’re staying with a group of friends and planning to go out most of the time and rest only in the hotel.

“Not happy at all with the service”

My girlfriend and I booked two nights at the Sunline over the weekend. 1. When we reserved the room I read several reviews stating how good the included breakfast was. When we arrived we were informed that we'd have to pay separate for breakfast. We hadn't even seen the room. 2. After the first night we took our time getting ready the following day because we had celebrated my birthday the previous evening. The front desk called several times while we were in bed. The third time I finally answered which was around 12noon. They asked if we wanted our room cleaned that day and I said yes. He informed me they were coming up now and I told him to give us an hour or so. He then told me that would be too late to have the beds made. 3. Our checkout was on new years day. Again, we were slow moving from the previous night. They tried to charge us extra for remaining in the room about an hour after checkout. I've never been charged for this in all the hotels I've ever stayed in. When I informed them that I had no plans to pay the fee they chased after us down the street (we were walking) and threatened to call the police. Happy New Year! :) But avoid the sunline if you want to relax.

“Disappointed in this Hotel and Expedia reviews”

We stayed in 5 hotels in Japan - this was by far the worst - and not cheap. Only good thing was it was only one night.
