"We were genuinely sad we only had one night to stay at Banana Azul! Check in was quick and efficient and friendly. The fresh coconut was a lovely treat. The Howler Suite was charming and the view magical. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend Banana Azul if you want an authentic Costa Rica experience that’s right on the Playa Negra beach. I’ll definitely be returning. "

"Staff was welcoming and very understanding about our flight cancellation. They called to check on us. Provided great info where to go to the beach. The house keeping crew made sure our place felt very welcoming. Bartender Jonathan was so awesome. Gave recommendations. Stephanie welcomed us the night we got in late. She checked on us to make sure we arrived safe in Costa Rica since AA canceled our flight. "
