"Awesome historical inn. The rooms were filled with antiques and the history was wonderful. We were on the 3rd floor, next to the main street, which was pretty loud in our room, though we were so tired each evening, it didn't affect our sleeping. There is only a elevator to the 2nd floor, so you have to carry your luggage to the 3rd floor. The breakfast was very fresh and delicious. We ate at the restaurant both nights, outdoor seating was great, and so was the food! Highly recommend this lovely...

"We stayed here for dog sports activities nearby. The hotel was in a safe area, with food and coffee options nearby. Clientele was OK, considering this is a budget hotel. We felt safe enough and the room was adequately clean. Mattresses were OK. There is a small potty area for dogs at the back of the property. It wasn't impressive, but it did have enough space for the dogs to do their business. "

"They offer you candy when checking in. I must have looked at a different place to stay and accepted this one by mistake. Expedia had us wanting a smoking room? The room was clean but had a strange smell. It has only a space heater for heat. It is supposed to drop in the teens tonight. There is a unit in it that is supposed to be a heat/air conditioner that does not heat. Was charged $150.00 deposit incase we smoked in the room or for incidentals. Which we had no idea about! Which is...

"The room was clean. However, I’d asked for a room on a specific side and ended up being put in a room on the other side. Ive stayed here numerous times work related. The place seems to have just gotten dirtier and more cigarette butts and trash around the grounds then from the first time I stayed there. The room is always fine and clean."

"The hotel was in the middle of a remodeling project in the foyer, dinning area, main desk and outside. Dust, dirt, debris and noise was bad. The pool was unusable as well as the surrounding area. Very dirty! There was no hot breakfast for the 2 days we were there. Just cold stuff. Staff did the best they could under the circumstances. "

"Bed was comfy, but rooms were stark and noisy (no carpet). Cold, blue/white lighting everywhere made it seem more clinical than cozy, even in the bedroom. The front office staff was nice but he had his hands full. (understaffed?) Now on to the breakfast... The oatmeal was so old that it had dried up hard, I mean crispy in the pot! The cereal (Raisin Bran or Cap'n Crunch with Crunch Berries?) was so crunched up is was a bowl of raisin bran powder with raisins in it. Of course it turned to mush...

"We always stay at this hotel when visiting ETSU. Very clean, great breakfast and every one of the staff are friendly. You can tell they enjoy working there because you hear how friendly they are with each other as well. We don’t stay anywhere else."
