"Japanese style breakfast with a wide variety rice, soup, and vegetable dishes. The fruit and juices were very sweet. I love having a salad course for breakfast. There were a few pastries available. The staff was polite and courteous. The room was clean."

"As returning guest here, every time I have to give it a five stars!! The service started already way early than check In, arrange dinner time, special requests; on the day of arrival it seems every person at reception knows about your preference, good cookie in the lobby and guiding to the room is also kind and helpful; snacks besides hot spring; dinner is highlight, well prepared and perfect presentation! Feel the warm heart of the chef and taste of great local food and rice! The waitress at restaurant is at top class every time I visited, last year celebrated my father‘s birthday and this year with others. Breakfast full of selection. What a memorable experience! We also meet the owner of the hotel, daughter of the founder, she just sits behind a small desk in the lobby, greeting guests and I hope I can be also as energetic as her when I am at her age! "

"The location was really good, close proximity to Niigata Station. The room and bathroom is your typical average size Japanese hotel room and combo bathroom. When we stayed in early March the hotel’s AC system was programmed to heater only which was too warm so we had to turn it off and keep the window cracked open for air. The area is not very noisy even at night so that was a plus. Breakfast was a highlight of this hotel and that made up for the other shortcomings. The selections were plentiful and they had food offerings that were specialties of Niigata."
