"We had a wonderful stay at the Old Hawaiian B&B and highly recommend this place. Breakfast each morning was a real highlight, with fresh fruits and delicious homemade pastries. The property is set in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood and surrounded by a lush tropical garden, with an impressive cliffside view that makes the setting feel truly special. It is also very conveniently located, just a short drive from downtown Hilo, as well as swimming and snorkeling beaches and the beautiful bayfront gardens. Our host, Stewart, was very friendly and attentive to all our needs. He generously shared great tips on places to visit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely consider coming back."

"Don't be deceived by the exterior of the building. Once you enter the front door with the provided code it's very nice and inviting. Our room was clean and comfortable. Nicely furnished. Compact but all our needs were supplied. Good coffee. Nice thick towels. Good air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Convenient location downtown Hilo. Neighborhood felt a little iffy with a few homeless people outside. Parking lot in the rear was not paved. Should we return to Hilo again we would stay there and recommend it to our friends. "

"The start of the stay started off well with Sarge, the property manager, and all, with him cooking for us and welcoming us in. The rules were very strict in having no outter footwear inside the house. The property was nice with a stray cat, named White Knight, being around the property to be there during your stay. However, things went downhill when we found out that one of our friends was hit on by Sarge, which made her feel uncomfortable. We were caught off guard by this action and let the other guests who went there with us, to be cautious and watch over her. "

"I love this charming spacious home. It was conveniently located close to downtown and other amenities (farmers market, cafes, grocery stores, restaurants, etcetera) with allocated free parking. The home was well equipped with an array of potential needs we may have had as travelers (e.g., beach towels, shampoo, cooler for picnics). They also provided plenty of information about the area which we found very helpful because Hilo was our base to explore Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, the Hamakua Coast and Volcano National park. They also provided cultural literature which we appreciated because for us this was also a cultural trip. Overall, this was an excellent location (safe and quiet) to explore other areas."
