I can't recommend staying here after trying it for a night recently. The first two rooms we tried were not guest-ready. The third was fine for one late night, but in the morning I could better see issues (several dead insects on the floor).
Although it wasn't an issue to my party, the water park/swimming pool is closed for maintenance, and it's obviously not a recent change. The closed restaurant next to the lobby has several mattress stacked in it. The wifi internet never worked well enough to actually work on a laptop.
The other rooms we tried had former guests' food trash, drawing/graffiti on the bathroom cabinet, wet food like sauce on the wall by the bed, an unmade bed, half the lightbulbs burned out, food and stains on floor, telephones not working to dial out or to the desk, plus a broken wall heater and broken space heater in San Luis Valley winter! It is sad what this hotel could be compared to how it's kept now.
Check-in required use of a walkie-talkie. Guests may have to use a heavy handheld radio to let the staff know they're there. I think it's a functional solution but shows that Quality Inn Alamosa an understaffed, large hotel that is NOT investing in vital communication for staff and guest safety.
Thank you to the above-and-beyond staff, and fluffy pillows, that made the stay better overall. Thank you for the chance to leave this honest feedback.
