Not so much a palace...

But the room was huge with a separate living area in which the children’s camp beds were placed. It had two toilets and two shower rooms which was fab. Cleaners did a wonderful job and put the children’s teddies in their pillows which was such a nice touch.
Buffet food - was poor in my opinion. Very much the same thing every day, pasta, pizza, chips and not enough variety. Wine served on the all inclusive was very good though. Normally when it’s all inclusive it tastes like vinegar, but this was a very nice Portuguese wine. They also serve other branded alcohol and nice Portuguese beers.
The only problem being, whenever we went to get a drink at the bar in the evening or at the pool bar, you had to wait a minimum of 20 mins (day time) and up to half an hour in the evening, as they only ever had one person serving at the bar at a time.
Note on the pools - kids pool was fab with the pirate ship in it, which my kids loved. But the tile floor in the pool was rough and sharp and both my children cut/grazed their knees in it.
Also all of the pools were really murky looking which we only noticed on the second day.
We stayed here for x3 nights after staying at Vidamar resort for x7 days and you could definitely notice the drop in quality/service.
Overall very disappointed with the stay and wish we had stayed on at Vidamar

Regarding to your opinion related to our food variety and quality, tree restaurants with different concepts in order to provide enough variety to our guests, all of them with different menus changed daily and that´s why you find different products.

Dikirim pada 13 Jul 2019 di HotelsO hotel não é um hotel 5 estrelas. Serviço muito fraco denotando forte recurso a trabalhadores temporários com muito pouca formação. Buffet caótico sem ninguém para nos encaminhar a uma mesa. Reposição muito demorada. Não existe uma piscina para adultos onde se possa descansar confortavelmente, nem sequer no SPA. Hotel tipicamente para famílias com crianças. Não existe ninguém que assegure o cumprimento das diretrizes do hotel: p. ex. proibido reserva de espreguiçadeiras, andar de patins no hall de entrada, etc. No quarto apenas existem 2 garrafas de água de 0,25 cl cada. Ninguém para nos encaminhar ao quarto nem tão pouco para ajudar com o transporte de bagagem. Enfim um hotel 4 estrelas.

The main problem was internet connection (WiFi). Sometimes it didn't work, more often it would work but barely have 1Mbps so couldn't even watch YouTube or download a bigger attachment from email.
The food in the buffet(s) was good, with voucher entry to the other 2 restaurants available:
- The upstairs restaurant was very nice too (1 voucher per every 5 or 7 days stay) - wish we could have gone more often
- The one by the pool (1 voucher per every 3 days stay) was always the same food but good. Wish there was more variety
The hotel was very isolated, so if you want to go out at night and walk to a high street then forget it. The entertainment in the hotel was ok. The games room could be so much better though! Walking around the hotel was very nice and relaxing, so it may be what you are looking for.
Another strange one was the access to the Spa. We had a voucher (1 voucher per 5 or 7 days stay) but couldn't use unless we purchased equipment like hair protective cap. What's the point of providing a voucher if we then have to purchase stuff to use the amenities? It looked nice but mostly empty.
The outside pools were nice, they were warmed too in colder days, which is excellent! They could benefit from more shades, though. There weren't enough for all the chairs and some of them were broken on top of it... I think there's no excuse, there were too many broken shades which gives the impression of abandonment, not what you expect from a 5 star Hotel.
Excellent rooms and staff.
