In the face of the COVID-19 outbreak, travelling now comes with a few more challenges than usual. Have a read over these handy tips before boarding your plane to German Alps:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before committing to a flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll have to follow on arrival, such as mandatory quarantining.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Travellers who refuse to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be denied boarding.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and wallet) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
