"Very disappointed with this stay. While the location is central to downtown SD, that was really the only upside of the stay. The room, on face value, looks okay. However, the AC did nothing to keep the room cool. It was difficult to sleep due to the temp in the room. Moreover, there were several cockroaches in the room #405. The shower is missing a door so all the water just spills out onto the floor. I wasn’t expecting much, but this was disappointing to say the least. "

"Great for a family stay, nice breakfast, clean, airy, enjoyed the social buzzing happy hour. Pool was a nice touch- open from 5am so perfect for the transatlantic arrivals. Location is brilliant- very close to all the amenities- Top Gun Bar practically next door! Highly recommend."

"Despite the ongoing renovations of the front desk area and elevators we had a pleasant night stay. The bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast options was good and the eating area kept very clean. Only complaint was the water for the shower was luke warm at best and very low pressure. Not sure if this was due to the renovations at the time or not. Was strange because there was very hot water and lots of pressure from the bathroom sink taps. Hotel is 10 minute walk to the cruise ship terminal which was great for us. "

"Stayed at the Marquis with my child and family. Great property, decided to upgrade to a balcony bay view room at the check in counter and did not regret it. The view was breathtaking. The room was clean. The staff was super friendly and took care of our needs. I always request extra towels and they were able to provide them promptly. The pool and small splash pad was a great activity for my child. Would likely stay again. "
