Great location, clean, friendly staff, steep narrow stairs typical of the Netherlands. Very small room. Don't bring luggage you can't carry. Ideal for 2-4 days, 1 or 2 light Travellers.

Our room was booked last minute after our previous plans were cancelled on us. The location to Dan square is perfect. Stairs are crazy steep and narrow but staff are more than willing to help with bags. Rooms are very small but comfortable enough for just putting your head down at night. Worked for us definitely not a 5 star but price worked and location was great

Great hidden gem in the middle of Amsterdam.

Amazing and accommodating staff. They were extremely helpful and open to last minute, unforseen changes If you're planning on spending a lot of time in the room, this may not be it. The rooms are small, but it has everything you need while traveling and exploring the city. It's in the heart of Amsterdam, waking distance or a short tram ride to the Central train station, museums and historic attractions.

Typical very small hotel rooms to be expected in Amsterdam. This place had good staff and a nice central location for trains and all the places you might want to visit in the city with a nice bakery just a few doors down. Good price if you are okay with a small space — which really it’s Amsterdam so go explore versus spending all your time at the hotel anyway.

Good location but it offers nothing else

One night stay here more so because of the location. Other than that this is not a comfortable place to stay. The stairs are steep and hard to climb, there is no space in the rooms and no dining options at all.. nothing for breakfast

Nice location

The stay was definitely good, not for those with weak knees. The stairs are steep and a work out every day. A good price for the location and quality of our stay. I advice not to keep the windows open for too long, mosquitoes may bite you. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Sharm with charm

This hotel is quite different from a typical one but has its own unique charm. It’s in the affordable price range, so don’t expect luxury standards. That said, this simplicity adds to its appeal. I was warmly greeted by the owner and his adorable cat, which made my arrival even more delightful. The room was compact but well-equipped, featuring all the essentials like a fridge, bed, closet, and a private bathroom. It’s not designed for a fancy vacation, but if you’re simply looking for a comfortable place to rest after exploring Amsterdam, it has everything you need at a reasonable price. The room was cleaned daily, which I appreciated, and the location is a major highlight. Being centrally located, it’s an excellent choice for travelers who want a convenient base while enjoying the best of Amsterdam. Overall, it’s a great value for anyone seeking a simple and practical stay.

The property is perfect for someone who is attending a conference or workshop, as I was. It provided me with a safe, comfortable, clean place to sleep and relax. The manager was always available, informed, and helpful. What I did not appreciate is the loud noise made by younger patrons. But this is not the fault of the property.

OK, you have to deal with tough stairs! But AMS is extremely expensive and Sharm offers some value. Great location behind Palace, convenient for trams. Great supermarket very close. Room extremely small, and that was a problem for sure. Crowded and difficult. Fine view out the back. A rather basic establishment but good employees there. Difficult stairs will turn some away, but this is our 2nd stay!

Nice gentleman runs the place - but The saying: "You get EXACTLY what you pay for" applies here. I'll leave that for you to think about. My main issue is that there NO mention that you have to climb 37-stairs, Just to get to the reception, and THEN climb more stairs to get to your room.... (FYI For those that haven't been to Amsterdam before - these old buildings have VERY VERY STEEEEP Stairs) out of context - they do show a picture of stairs on this site - but you can't tell what you're looking at - but you sure understand when you open the door...

Inspired by the overall average to good reviews I booked this hotel for three nights, Well aware it was not Hilton. Somehow I could not check in to the reserved (double)room due to some water damaged, and was relocated to a 4-bed room, though with me as the only guest. The window could not be totally closed, and lacked either an insulation tape or a joint list and was open more than a centimeter in the top with heavy draft and cold coming in. The window bench had clear marks of water. I asked to have it either fixed or to be moved to another room. The message was, that it was not too bad, and I could just turn up the heat. Which would have not solved the draft and risk of rain coming in. On my suggestions a few towels were used as a makeshift sealing. But I was met with the answer that it was only for one night. Even it's not the Hilton, I still expect some quality as a paying guest. The bathroom in this room was very dirty. The two following days I got another room. Still a drop of cold from the window, and was not able to have the curtains reach as they were a bit broken in the top. With the radiator heating up it bearable, though. Would have been nice with a hook for the jacket in either rooms. So this could be an idea for an immediate and cheap upgrade and improvement of the rooms. Cleanliness of this room was better than the first one. Didn't mind the stairs but they are steap.
