"We were unable to stay as they had booked us into an upstairs unit instead of ground level. There was no lift or any body prepared to help us with luggage to try to get up the stairs. We are an elder couple and we were in Townsville for my husband to have eye surgery. He had to stay in Townsville to be able to return to the hospital for after surgery care. Very disappointing!"

"The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom vanity cupboard needing to be replaced. The draws had moisture damage so wouldn’t close properly. Bathroom wall paint is peeling due to water/moisture damage. Both didn’t affect my stay. The price was more than doubled due to the v8 super car race. Was not impressed with price considering the property hasn’t been updated nor was there a continental breakfast provided."

"The only real interaction I had with the employees at Aquarius was with the Reception Team, and they were all polite, cheery, good at what they were doing and very welcoming.
It's an old building however it appears to be pretty well maintained. One rarity these days was the internet. It was brilliant. I had a property purchase to finalise and had no trouble at all. Many places offer free wifi but you end up having to hotspot to the phone. Not at Aquarius.

"Fantastic oversized modern rooms. Comfy bed. Nice tropical style gardens and pool. Breakfast included which had a good spread of continental options inc meats, cheeses, cakes considering the competitive room price.
Beware at the moment the restaurant/bar is being renovated and isnt available. A temporary one is set up in the car park but obviously no where near as nice ad the pool side one.
Also reception hours 8-5 are woeful making leaving your bag on the day of your checkout inconvenient...

"The room was satisfactory but if I had one issue, it was the lack of a overhead fan for the bathroom. Plus the grouting in the bath area needed fixing. The location was excellent with the Seaview Hotel meals, just down the road, outstanding and good value. The other excellent factor was the availability of car parks on-site with access controlled via a security gate. All the staff, from the front desk to the cleaners and handy men, were all exceptionally friendly and helpful."
