"It is a cool place if you know what expect. The staff is very nice. The room only had a/c in the bedroom, and the ceiling fan didn't work in the living area. They did bring us a plug in fan. The restaurant and bar closes very early, so pepare. I do recommend the omelettes in the morning."

"Really cute bungalow and private off road parking in back of main house (by the bungalow) a rarity in the area. My host was very nice and explained hoe everything worked to me. "The property was in a convenient location exactly what I was looking for, for the occasion... in the center of town but for the price during that time, not exactly the Ritz. No room conveniences except for an iron which i had to ask for. No refrigerator or coffeepot it was barebones. Room cleaning only upon request. "The Sandbar was a great location the night before our flight out. It's close to the airport, great beaches, and the chocolate factory. The room itself was quiet and relaxing right near the beach and had a comfy bed and warm shower with good water pressure. Our host, Christine, was fantastic! She was friendly, helpful, and even let us check out late so we could go to the beach and come back to shower before our flight. We would definitely stay here again!"

We stopped at this house on a day tour of Dominica to look for the hummingbirds that often feed on the garden flowers. It always pays to hire locals when birding in a new destination, and for us that meant Dr. Birdy - a local birding expert that also works for the Forestry Division. I believe that this is an Antillean Crested Hummingbird.

"the property is nothing like the pictures. it was very unkept and smelt really moldy. Even the restroom at the reception area was below par for a hotel. To get the rooms, the tiles in the hall are very slippery and sunked in ...be careful when walking down the steps as well. In our room the toilet and the jacuzzi were not working. It was so bad i had to go all the way back to reception to request a room change.The second room smelt really moldy, we tried to air it out but here's where it went wrong. The reception stated that the security guard will bring us a fan to air out the new room, but on whatsapp she stated that i needed to come and collect ....its a good distance from the room. i was turned off by the atmosphere and lack of concern by the staff. I went to check out the same day (this was less than an hour after checking in) and the reception did not even have the courtesy to check me out and said that i should leave to the key with the grounds man. As we were loading the car i could hear the staff mockingly shouting "BYE!" i was really hurt. The pool was so dirty and unkept. I have reached out to Expedia for a refund and i am still unable to get any satisfaction from this ordeal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE ESPECIAL BECAUSE OF THE MOLDY SMELL, BROKEN FACILITIES AND EXTREMELY UNHOSPITABLE STAFF. I DID NOT STICK AROUND FOR THE WORST "
