Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei

Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei

10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely too notch hotel, should be five star. You are taken care of before you even enter the premises. Reception staff most welcoming, all v organised. My superior room was incredible with an outdoor mini onsen, private and luxurious. Room huge, tatami mats, spotless and smelt amazing as did the lobby. Hotel onsen was the best one Ive been to, large indoors and outdoors also with cold plunge pool and sauna. Fabulous food in the evenings, full 11 course menu in a private room, so delicious and the breakfast was buffet style so catered to all needs. Shuttle bus operates regularly all day and free. I was so sad to leave!"

"This is a beautiful inn at which to stay. It was incredibly convenient for access to downtown Miyazu and was only a short walk from the train station. The meals were included in the affordable price and were unquestionably the highlight. The cooking was incredible and provided the opportunity to experience traditional Japanese cooking while saving money on dining. Although the bathroom facilities were dated (1960s or 1970s), the rooms were beautiful, traditional Japanese rooms. The futon sleeping can be difficult for foreign travelers who are unaccustomed to sleeping on tatami, but I would recommend staying here for at least one to two nights if you want to truly experience Japanese culture and hospitality."

"Second stay at this ryokan after a perfect stay last year. Location is perfect - on the willow-lined river street close to onsens. Quiet, comfortable rooms. Public and private onsen on site, excellent dinner served at the restaurant. Air conditioning wasn’t cooling the room completely, but staff were accommodating with extra fans. Thank you Kaki for another wonderful stay."

"Pretty impressed with their thoughtfulness and excellent service! Deposited my luggage with them before check in so I could go sightseeing. When I came back to check in, they told me they had already transported my luggage to my room! In addition, they offered me a hot towel and a choice of free welcome drink (you can choose from beer to soft drink or a snack). The breakfast is wonderful too! Piping hot miso soup based hotpot served with dishes made from local ingredients. Only drawback is it is a 10 min walk from Toyooka JR Station."

"A good spot to stay in Kinosaki. The room itself was pretty outdated with an old tv - I really enjoy when hotel TV's have casting capabilities which this one did not. But the service and meals service was excellent, it's a self-serve buffet style dining which is great if you're a slightly fussy eater like myself. A little disappointed that the room view was blocked by netting for maintenance, which Inwas advised prior to arrival but after booking. I think some form of discount would have been nice for the inconvenience considering I had booked a river view room."
