"Very old hotel, and lots of mandatory extra charges when you check in. The rooms are small, the building has not been renovated in a long time. Location is decent but lots of closures of the roads when there’s events happening at Madison square garden. They make you pay a mandatory fee of $30 per day for use of the facilities and WiFi even if you don’t use them. They try and sell you tours when you arrive in the lobby. And if you want your luggage stored after you check out, it’s $10 per bag....

"Don't know how this hotel ends up with a 4 star rating in Manhattan. However, if you want a Motel 6 style clean room with a comfortable bed and a pretty good location, then this hotel will work great for you. Do not expect any amenities - and I mean none (not even a pen in the room). And don't be surprised by the $45/night facility fee - despite no amenities."

"Overall a good stay offering excellent value for NYC. You cannot beat the location right in the heart of Times Square on 48th, walkable to subways and all Broadway theaters. Surprisingly, nights weren't obnoxiously loud like other hotels in the area. The bed was great, providing excellent sleep, and the air conditioning was fantastic. However, the property is run down and upkeep must be stepped up. The decor, interiors, furniture, and rooms including entry doors show heavy wear and desperately...
