"First, you will have to pay the property in cash or by transfer. No credit card. Even if we got there around 4 pm, the owner sent us a message around 9pm at night that we need to pay the total amount in cash or by money transfer.
Toilet doesn’t flush properly and the shower will be cold or burning hot. Also, no water pressure. We’ve contacted the owner multiple time and she kept telling us there is a way to get a warm shower but it never worked at the end so we gave up asking. We also had to...

The 'Lake of Seven Colours' dazzles with its crystal-clear waters perfect for kayaking, swimming, and paddleboarding at sunrise. Explore ancient Fort San Felipe and take boat tours to see stromatolites, some of Earth's oldest living organisms still thriving in the lagoon.
Excellent stay in Bacalar. The rooms are spacious and spotless, the pool is great, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The front desk gave us great recommendations for activities. Having bicycles available was super convenient. The location is perfect, right near everything. We nearly booked a much more expensive hotel outside of town and are so glad we didn’t. Staying here was far more convenient and enjoyable. Will be back for sure.

This hotel was so lovely. We had a gorgeous room with such a nice view, the staff were all friendly and helpful, the food was consistently good and the lagoon pontoon was beautiful with kayaks and SUPs free to use. We had such a nice time, thank you!

Excellent, beautiful boutique hotel in a stunning location, the hotel has an excellent restaurant in a beautiful location.
The only improvement could be better towels as they’re a bit scruffy and a suitcase standin the room.

Great accommodation with private lagoon access. Small restaurant onsite for breakfast (maybe just burgers and salads for day menu). Hotel restaurant 30 seconds away sells beers and has larger menu. Or 20ish minute walk to town. Would go back, so nice to be right on the lagoon

We stayed 4 nights at Rancho Encantado and it was a totally unforgettable experience, in all the good ways!
We had the privilege of staying in 2 different types of room during our stay - we were booked into a lake side cottage but the lovely Gerardo moved us to a Laguna Master Suite for two of the nights as there was a bit of construction going on, and we wanted to avoid the noise. I have to say, both styles of rooms are beautiful and for different reasons. The lake side cottages feel like...

Lovely place to stay, a good sized room, bathroom and balcony with hammock.
Staff are wonderful and very helpful, even helped us to contact local tour company for onward travel.
Breakfast was nice, (it would be great to have coffee making in the room, but this was available at reception.
Location is good, just back from the lake but central to restaurants and shops.
Highly recommend!

The whole stay was wonderful, the hosts are very welcoming and amenable. You feel very welcome and are able to communicate with them easily. They offer great advise regarding the area. We booked a tour to go paddle boarding at sunset with monkey adventure bacalar though the hotel which was absolutely incredible. The room was very spacious, the kitchen had plenty of utensils. There were multiple communal outside areas and free filtered water.
I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend...
