"Wow! The most beautiful nights stay at The Peacock, the scenery, the room, the food, the staff. I didn't want to leave. I LOVED the little touches - the Peacock shortbread, the glass bottles for water/milk, bath salts. I've stopped in a lot of hotels and I have to say this stay beats them all. Perfect! Thanks so much. I hope to be back soon."

"The hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of an update. The room was fine...no safe, furniture a bit tatty and some black mould around the bath/shower. Only 1 dressing robe and slippers in the room, although booked as a couple. Room service was a bit random. The sandwiche that arrived was not great, with a tired piece of lettuce, 2 small tomatoes and some tortilla chips. Breakfast was again fine but nothing to write home about. The hot food had the air of being put out for the opening...

"The room did not have the ability to access Netflix or other streaming services. When I contacted reception, I was informed that the hotel had not yet set up the Chromecast functionality, so streaming was unavailable. The air conditioning was also very noisy, with the motor producing a constant whining sound, which was disruptive and had to be turned off especially during sleep. "Hotel looked great online and like a 1970s holiday camp when we arrived with metal staircases and chalet rooms We also had a lovely guest decide to smash the room up under us and threaten everyone police called not 1 member of staff checking anyone was ok Breakfast was awful all in all never to be repeated again"

"This hotel really did represent value for money on a weekend where the city was busy due to a famous comedian performing. The hotel is central and only a five minute walk from the train station. Staff helpful, communal spaces lovely for a drink in the evening.
