"The breakfasts are ample and served by the plate--quite good, with fruit. We ate one evening meal--again quite good with a very tender filet mignon. The staff (especially Michael) love their town and represent it well; the guide (Robert Terry) to the Vicksburg Battlefield they recommended is personally known to them and did a great job. The owners are quite young and locally prominent. Quite well done, all in all."

"We stayed in Mae-Mae's Room at the Steele Cottage and it was great for our needs. Well appointed, conveniently located and easily accessible, yet removed from the core downtown area for privacy. The breakfast service at the Duff Green Mansion B&B was good for a first morning, but the 3+ block walk is not directly toward the main part of downtown and the river. I suggest equipping the Steele Cottage with bottled waters and snack items in each room for optimal convenience."

She saw that I had apparently booked a smoking room by accident & changed it for us right away, which we greatly appreciated. The room was clean, the breakfast was very good and all the employees were friendly & helpful. We will definitely stay here the next time we make this trip!"
