"Rooms were nice and clean but we had an annoying noise coming from an air vent inside a wardrobe that drove us wild, made them aware and they attempted a bodge to cover it up but it still persisted and spoiled our sleep. The only other complaint is when we were dining a family with young children had been eating beside us and the kids had food on the floor, due to the hot weather there were a lot of flies about and they were congrigating around the food on the floor. "This was a nice clean and accessible property and close to Manchester airport."

"This is an older hotel in a gorgeous location right on Grasmere Lake. The interior has been modernized, which some traditionalists lament, but it is very comfortable. There is humorous, whimsical art throughout the facility. The large spa is a real plus. Breakfasts are ample and offer plenty of options. Large bathtubs in the rooms are very nice. Our shower stall often smelled musty, but this could be relieved by leaving the door open. A full length mirror in each room would be a good addition....

"Slight misty smell in reception - probably due to hot weather and drainage . Rooms very clean but dates these days . Coffee at breakfast has to be black with milk unless paying extra for cappuccino or latte etc . Breakfast food selection was good. Was expecting the room to have a coffee machine , or more upper class coffee bags ."
