"The experience of staying at the hotel was wonderful. Staff were efficient and friendly. Food was excellent. Breakfast was particularly good. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. I did not use the bar."

"Property appears to have been recently made over, everything is new and fresh, extremely clean and although on the small side the rooms are perfect for overnight stays, comfortable bed and with more than enough tea/coffee supplies unlike a lot of places. The continental breakfast was excellent quality and plentiful. We could not fault the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall excellent value for money and we will definitely go back"

"We were made to feel welcome on arrival, the pub is very old with plenty of character, the room was basic but adequate. The bar had a good choice of beers including reel ale. The breakfast was lovely."

"Nice hotel, friendly staff. Dinner was good quality pub-grub and breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and very smart decor. Was a bit hot at night so perhaps air-con would have been nice, although there was a fan thankfully! Be aware that there is no car park at the hotel, although we got parked fine on the unrestricted side streets. Overall, nice hotel, would recommend."

"Its a grand old hotel. It has everything you would need. One of the highlights was having a bedroom with a balcony that looked out over Morecambe bay. Beautiful. If you like somewhere with a bit of character, and a peacock !, this is the place for you ! Thanks Liz"

"We stayed in room 11 which was lovely, decorated well and had a very large bathroom with a free standing bath. Breakfast was great with a good choice. Lisa was extremely helpful and having the option to be taken and brought back from nearby restaurants was an added touch, as well as the electric charging points"

"Top class rooms, entry, location. Very minor point, private terrace area could do with improved seating but we used our own camping chairs so not a problem. Tesco express a few yards away was excellent. An excellent spot to stay."

"Very basic/dated hotel, no frills, clean, no aircon or fans (during the UK heatwave), breakfast was simple but tasty, bed was comfy. The gym/pool was a nice extra. The hotel was walkable to the town and castle which was very convenient, nice views. Parking was a pig on arrival, tight bays and people badly parked but it was empty when we left so much easier to get out than in. Was all we needed for our short stop in Kendal."

"Not very clean in the room and toilet,curtains was hanging off the runner's. There are 2 main roads each side of the hotel and it was very noisy.when booking they did say they didn't have a car park,but it was ok to use the hotel across the road,there isn't an hotel across the road.the only parking was a cricket club 500mtrs plus down the Rd to park at"

When I arrived at 8.30pm 25/5 the door was locked shut, the place was in darkness and a note attached to the door said to phone a mobile number to gain code keys and access BUT their number failed to ring. Tried multiple times, including 100m away in 3 directions. A landline number was given on the accommodation door, this also failed to ring. "The staff were attentive to our needs. We ate there on the second night of our stay. They food was lovely and hot when served. We did not wait for too long from ordering to getting our food. There were limitations on what we could have both on the food and drink side due to delivery issues. My and I were are aware that there was music being played when we went to bed, but I did not really interfere with us getting to sleep. Eat plugs were provided which my wife used.
