"The hotel is conveniently located not far from City Hall. It was university graduation time while I was there which made for a lively crowd and a very busy foyer at times. The staff was efficient but not overly friendly and maintenance issues took more than 24 hours to be addressed. The room was spacious but showing its age a little. The bed was huge and quite comfortable but the air-conditioning unit and fridge were so noisy that I needed to turn them off in order to sleep. I was a bit concerned that a room overlooking Broad Street would be too noisy for a light sleeper as the windows are not double glazed, but with the electrical items turned off, it was reasonably quiet on the 15th floor. The gym is one of the better ones I’ve seen in a hotel, with lots of weights options and a few machines. It was great having chilled water in the foyer available at all times given the hot weather."
