"The property is very nice and tastefully renovated for an older building. The location is beyond compare and puts most of the old city, university District, and the castle within an easy walking distance. The real standout was one of the Front Desk people… Philip… Who was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and really as good as it gets. Oh, and one other thing, watch out for the photo radar in and around the hotel when the speed limit suddenly changes from 50 to 30 km an hour. It happens quickly...

"Lovely, small hotel situated right by the river and uni campus in the old town. Our main floor room was large, clean and bright. No AC but there was a fan to cool the room at night which worked well (we visited early July during a warm spell). Front desk staff were lovely and helpful. However be sure to take note of the limited front desk hours if you are arriving after 15:30. Breakfast in the cellar was charming and delicious!"

"Great location. Room is nice. Due to the hotel being a historic building there is no air conditioning so the room is very warm on hot days. There is no parking or drop off area so be prepared to walk with luggage on cobbled streets from the parkade."

"The suites were fabulous ( I stayed there twice), large, comfortable, clean, had robes, slippers, great soaps and lotions, coffee maker, water kettle, little kitchen area.. the best accommodation I've ever had in Heidelberg. Great delicious individual breakfast tower with german breads, fruit salad, meats, cheeses, etc. AND WONDERFUL, helpful, kind staff. "

"I loved staying at this hotel! It was in a great location walkable to almost anything you want to do in old town. The funicular to get up to the castle is right outside the elevator, which was really nice. The breakfast buffet was delicious. I was even offered fruit and a roll on the morning that I had to leave before the buffet was open, which was really sweet. My only complaint was the lack of air-conditioning. It was around 90° the days I stayed and got pretty uncomfortable in the room....

"The location was great and so was the view of the castle from our room. But the amenities were lacking for a ‘Deluxe’ room and there were roof beams to contend with ( hazardous in terms of knocking one’s head ). The breakfast was to be recommended."

"Great location and helpful staff. Very nice people. The free breakfast was nice. The room itself is dated and boring. Not very comfortable but ok for one night. We had to park way outside of the city center and walk it which wasn’t too bad with just backpacks. It’s in a great location though. Right near all the sights."

"Tolles Hotel in optimaler Lage in Heidelberg. Die Zimmer mit individuellen „Mottos“ sind sehr schön eingerichtet und endlich mal was anderes als die anonymen Standardzimmer, die man in anderen Hotels findet. Für Städtereisen sehr zu empfehlen!"
