1. Pictured Rocks Inn & Suites

Munising

"The room was disgusting. Entire room smelled of urine, carpet was ripped/worn and stained - especially near the door. Asked the desk to correct and they gave me a bottle of air freshener as no other rooms were available. Window lock was barely useable (we held it in place with a shoe overnight), thermal panes were broken so glass was fogged, also no screens in window. Bathroom was old, well worn and stained. Multiple layers of caulk have been used over the years to make repairs."

"We only stayed one night as we were driving through Escanaba. Location worked well for our travel plans. A big plus was the nice Italian restaurant in the hotel so we didn't need to worry about find a place when arriving at 7pm. We asked to be seated in the bar area and was served by the bartender. She could not have been nicer letting us take our time after a long day of travel. A negative, however, was the poor offering from the hotel in the morning. They say they have "breakfast" but it...

"I wish I had more positive things to say about this property, but the truth is everything was just ... well, enough - clean enough, comfortable enough, but nothing beyond that. Two things to keep in mind: 1) make sure you don't arrive after 7pm because the desk isn't staffed any later 2) pack light as there's no elevator - tricky for families with strollers or heavy bags The bed was comfortable enough, but the mattress was ancient and lumpy. There was a sofa in the room that I can't think of...

"The property is lovely and the walking trail behind the buildings is beautiful. Check in is supposed to be 4 pm, but our room was not ready until 4:45. That, in combination with their strict warning about 10 AM checkout (penalties if you go over that time) left something of a bitter taste. They shouldn’t be able to have it both ways. The unit was in ok shape. And quite comfy . But the sheets for the pullout sofa were dirty - had to call for clean ones - and our daughter found a cockroach...
