"Overall a really nice stay at the Wailea. Our room got upgraded to a fantastic ocean view room in the Chapel wing. The pools were fantastic and so much fun with all the water slides. We would always arrive mid to late morning.
The breakfast buffet was not as good as I had hoped. All the baked items (pancakes, waffles, pastries, etc.) were super underwhelming and didn't feel fresh.
One thing really bothered me that I'm having trouble letting go of it. I ordered two drinks at the pool bar....

"This is a resort, set within a group of other resorts. Only place to walk to is another resort or a relatively small and very up-scale shopping area. Not much to do on property. Bed was overly soft and down pillows were just uncomfortable; the heavy down comforter was way too much. Had room temp placed at 69, and still woke up in the night sweating; I think they turn the air off in the middle of the night. Room never felt dry; always felt damp. Housekeeping missed us on our first day, not sure...

"The Outrigger is a beautiful place to stay. The staff is very warm, friendly, and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. You will be close to the beach and the pool. There are plenty of excursions to choose from. I wish they had a bit more of variety of food/restaurants in the hotel. Overall, we highly recommend staying at the Outrigger in Maui!"

"This was a nice resort. Probably a little more
costly than it should be. Beautiful ocean view. No direct beach access which was kind of a bummer. Game room, Movie Room, Gym, Spa were all nice to haves. Bars by the pools, but not swim up. No real main bar other than in the restaurant…"
