"I can’t say enough good things about the family that runs Casa Dona and the property. They went above and beyond for our stay. From recommendations on what to do, traditional Portuguese dinners being served; cooked by the family and when my wife and I couldn’t get a taxi in the morning they drove us to the train station. The property was beautiful, clean and quiet. "

"Stunning property, spacious rooms, very clean and comfortable. We were met by John who took excellent care of us but the other members of staff were just as helpful. The restaurant on site was not only convenient but served a tasty dinner and brekky. The weather was perfect and the pool highly enjoyable, overlooking tbe douro valley/river. I would recommend a bottle of wine while you're swimming. I would love to return here one day."

"Our room was so comfortable with an exterior door and sitting area. One of 10 rooms on the property it was a quiet location. Breakfast is delicious overlooking the river and valley. "The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too! Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun! "
