"Clean room (looked recently updated/renovated); helpful staff; 1 of our keys did not work upon arrival so had to go back to the front desk and get new ones. Pool was small, and not really “heated” - the room it was was definitely warm/humid but the water felt cool. Very convenient location off the highway!"

"I hate writing negative reviews, but after more than a month of trying to resolve this privately, I feel other guests should know what happened.
My friends and I booked our annual Mother's Day getaway on April 5, 2026 after previously having a wonderful stay at Chateau Merrimack. One of the main reasons we returned was the pool.
Before our trip, we discovered through OpenTable that the restaurant was permanently closed, despite the hotel website still showing it as open. We adjusted our plans...

"Had a wonderful stay, Elizabeth is a fantastic hostess, chef, conversationalist and all around humanitarian. Loved all the extra touches you don't get in a hotel, hot tea, organic apples, exquisite soaps, fine books and chimes from antique clocks. I would highly recommend Elizabeth's Tavern to anyone who is looking to experience an immersive "colonial feel" with all the comforts of modern day living."
