"Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. The staff are wonderful. The manager gave us helpful suggestions for enjoying the area and even drove us to the train station on Easter Sunday morning when we checked out as taxis might have been difficult."

"We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly.
The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great."

"The breakfast selection was excellent and the service was wonderful. The hotel itself looked old and needing paint updates from the outside but once inside it was well kept, clean, noticeably updated and nicely decorated. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. I’d like to note that seniors might find the bath tub a bit high to step into in order to shower.
