"There is so much to recommend in this hotel, but there are issues which mean it's not reaching faultless. First, the positives. It's a beautiful building, down a lovely quiet road and a little oasis of calm from the traffic noise of the main road, and incredibly quiet at night. The rooms are quirky,with an eclectic mix of paintings and furniture, which adds character to the overall feel of the place. The bed was incredibly comfortable. "Wonderful old property. Breakfast was great. The hotel has beautiful features. The staircase inside is gorgeous. Lots of stairs so be prepared. The bar is fun and food good. Can’t beat the location if coming by train. Town is at your door, easily one of the most walkable location. Friendly welcoming staff."

"Great location and wonderful owner. Only issue for me was the bed was very hard on my back and hips. Needs more cushioning and better pillows… could just be me though. Other than that, it was a fantastic place to stay."
