"The location is unbeatable for the historic dockyard (30 mtr) and gunwharf quay and rail station. Good breakfast nicely cooked and tasty. The rooms are to a modern decor with fans for the heat, as there is no air con. We had room 25 which is small, but adequate. The bathroom is the smallest I have ever had with a basin that is tiny. Good shower cubicle that takes most of the space. We would stay there again but not in 25."

"Room was clean and tidy, bathroom was spacious (in previous occasions I've been assigned smaller bathrooms in which it was difficult to get in/out of the bath). Very quiet room even though it's next to the main road. I'd like it more if they provided the usual hotel amenities in the room (e.g. a bath cap). Breakfast is quite nice, a continental and full English buffet. Overall, I like the place."

"A relaxing feel runs through the hotel and out into the gardens. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. Herons love it too! The staff were smiley and attentive, Our room was clean and the towels soft and fluffy. We made use of the spa facilities every day. The pool temperature was great for us."

"The staff were helpful and the room was excellent - clean, well furnished, with good courtesy tray, easy to operate TV, an excellent shower in the bathroom. The only slight criticism was of the very limited choice of breakfast cereals - just rice krispies and coco-pops. Please offer muesli, Weetabix, shredded wheat etc. for those of us who prefer something more grown-up and fibrous !"

"Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and lovely to speak to throughout our short stay. The hotel is immaculately kept and tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious (family room with a queen bed and bunk beds for our 2 children was a dream for them) and had great amenities. Bathroom was clean and basic toiletries were supplied along with shaving and dental kits. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommned."

"Stayed here over the bank holiday as a family of 4. The hotel itself is nice and the outside space is green and relaxing. However, we were given a very hot top-floor room during 28°C weather, with no air conditioning and windows that barely opened. The fan provided did not help and none of us could sleep. This room really should not have been given to a family in such hot weather in the first place. At 2am we had to ask for another room, which meant moving tired children in the middle of the...

"Extremely dog friendly, loved that the dog friendly rooms opened onto the courtyard garden (enclosed). The walks are beautiful/ stunning. Dogs welcome in the restaurants. Highly recommend."

"I have been staying at this hotel every 2 years for the last 10 years and I have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and functional and the beds very comfortable. I love sitting in the outoor area. The location is perfect, 10 mins walk from the ferry port and a short walk from the beach. There are many options for food nearby and also a Sainsbury 5 mins away. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. The breakfast is excellent. I totally recommend this hotel and I look forward to...

"The 24hr check-in and 11am late check out was wonderful. The staff were all very helpful. The breakfast was very good with good vegetarian and vegan options. The room was clean and there were enough tea, coffee and milk portions. The shower was amazing! Very good price as well."
