A disappointing stay. First - We had upgraded to decorations in the room as a birthday surprise. The receptionist kind of ruined the suprise but we made a fun of it and it was fine, then we got to the room - no decorations.
They apologised and said they would offer a free drink and money off dinner - all good.
Then, we went to the spa, one of the main reasons we booked a break away. There was a waiting list as it was so busy, so we didn't get in. And it was more like a community leisure centre - kids jumping in the pool, strong chlorine smell, loud and lot's of chatter - far from a spa.
Dinner was lovely and the staff were very friendly too, same with breakfast. However on check out - the discount promised off our food was not granted. It seems a miscommunication with the restaurant manager and the receptionist plus waitress who served us - she reiterated that we would get a specific amount off dinner. They said they would be in touch once they have clarity of the situation, but charged us in the meantime.. we still haven't heard back and will be chasing up.
Overall quite a disappointing stay, would not recommend.
