"Overall, my experience was great. We had a tough time at check in. The two attendants at the front desk weren’t the nicest. However, the other staff that we encountered more than made up for it. Rooms were clean, I made good use of the fitness center, breakfast exceeded my expectations. Next time, I hope the pool is back open. "

"The hotel room was fine but the breakfast was not good! The sausage wasn’t good and the choice of other things for breakfast was limited. Also the coffee was very weak and not hot. It really makes a difference to offer a good continental breakfast so it would be a good idea to improve it."

"One of the best experiences that I’ve had with a hotel, they let us check in early after I had surgery. It was extremely modern clean and professional people were so gracious and nice even at the breakfast morning before we left. If I can give them 20 stars I would your front office Staff the gentleman working the breakfast the cleanliness everything was top-notch thank you so much and if I go to Birmingham, you’re my first choice. ! What a wonderful crew you have."

"My stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Birmingham was extremely disappointing and far below what you’d expect from a Hilton property. They charge for parking, yet the lot is poorly maintained with trash scattered around, and the speed bumps are unnecessarily high to the point of being ridiculous. Charging extra for that level of upkeep is unacceptable. The problems only got worse inside. The pool was dirty, the room had insects running around , and the bathroom was in terrible condition. The shower head was loose and not properly attached, and there were dark spots around the shower that appear to be mold—completely unacceptable from a cleanliness and health standpoint. To top it off, the bed was uncomfortable, making it hard to get a decent night’s sleep. Overall, this hotel is poorly maintained and not worth the cost. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone"

"The hotel was clean inside. Outside of the hotel we encountered a homeless man urinating on the sidewalks right after we checked in. I was frightened for our safety because of this. There was no parking on site and we had to pay to park close by. The area we parked in was dark and smelled of urine. "
