"The hotel is lovely. Everything looks/feels new. The view from our room was awesome. Staff was friendly. The restaurant downstairs is rightly known as one of Victoria's best. And the spa is a treat."

"By far the best place I’ve ever stayed. Staff were so very friendly and helpful, the food in the Snug was absolutely delicious and the amenities were in such good condition, and fully staffed. Would go back in a heartbeat!"

"The room was clean and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful, even though we couldn't get the T.V. to work, (we are not at all technical). Big bonus being dog friendly. The free breakfast was really nice with waffles, sausages, eggs, muffins and yogurt. And we had an upgrade to a king size bed! We will definately recoment THe Waddling Dog, and we will be back!"

"Very accommodating to early check in request. A very cosy little cottage just a tiny bit on the small side. Two suitcases - not a lot of space to have them both open. Very clean, great area - peaceful and beautiful grounds - views were lovely. Would def stay there again if in Victoria. Was not able to take advantage of the breakfast unfortunately, but the menu looked delicious!"

"The windows in our room were so dirty that it was hard to see the view. The rug was thread bear and had a hole that had been poorly repaired with the rug pad showing through . The gardens may have been lovely in years gone by but clearly aren’t getting any attention now. For almost $400 Canadian/ night I would expect more attention to detail and care for this beautiful old home. I won’t return"
