"Surfaces in the room were covered in sticky marks from drinks glasses & one of the pillow cases had burn marks or stains on it. The bathroom mirror had toothpaste or soap splatters on it too.
The bed was comfortable but we booked for twin beds & got a double instead!
There was a decent spread for the breakfast, & it was labelled with a description in English as well. But no decaf coffee option was available.
A lot of the staff were very helpful & friendly, but the ladies at the check in desk...

"The hotel is very basic. The rooms are quite small, and the hotel seems to operate at full capacity most of the time. They are generally unable to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. Guests have to wait in the lobby until 3:00 PM, and then suddenly all the rooms seem to become available for check-in at the same time.
There is no iron in the room. If you need one, you have to go to the front desk, get a special key, and access the first floor, which is a little inconvenient.

"Never stayed in such a poor hotel in my life. I know I should not expect much from a "budget" hotel, but at least they should provide with essential goods in the room. Virtually you only get a bed in a very small room to sleep and nothing else; no shampoo (there was a shampoo bottle but it was empty. Although I asked the staff to refill but they ignored my request), no drink water, no cups to take water from tap. The room was small and dirty. Breakfast was OK but the foods were the same every...

"Was great for a small trio of mid-20s guys who were looking for a different food and bar scene than what can be found in Copacabana. The short walk to Botafogo metro station was very useful and allowed us to skip ordering an uber to/from the beach during high traffic times. Great bars and places to eat. Never felt unsafe. The hotel is simple but clean. Location was the biggest highlight."

"Overall stay was okay to be honest. Upon arrival, the blankets we got in our room had white spots on them. We had to request that they get replaced. Also, the cleaning schedule runs late for stay ins. We went out for a whole day and upon return at about 4pm, our rooms were still not cleaned/turned over. Lastly, there was an accounting error on our group stay. My friends were locked out of their room due to a misallocation of payments by hotel staff. That was a distasteful experience for us...
