"Really poor stay. Countless issues that shouldn’t happening in a 4 star hotel. - breakfast poor, bad hygiene, had to ask for tables to be cleaned (as did many other guests) Ham & cheese served with same spoon (food standards issues) - room had to repeatedly ask to be cleaned, 2nd time just dropped towels didn’t service anything or take old towels. - spa - changing rooms gross, flies in all showers, steam room not working. "Ideal location for visiting Southampton, there are some nice pubs only a short drive away. The breakfast was good lots to choose from. I stayed in the quadruple room on the top floor. It was big, spacious but a bit hot so we had four fans running. Very good overall"

"Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and lovely to speak to throughout our short stay. The hotel is immaculately kept and tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious (family room with a queen bed and bunk beds for our 2 children was a dream for them) and had great amenities. Bathroom was clean and basic toiletries were supplied along with shaving and dental kits. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommned."

"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

"One night stay for a family wedding that was held on site, the room was clean and very comfortable, the food provided for the wedding breakfast was well cooked and very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The building is a converted old country house and as such is a little tatty around the edges but this just adds to the charm."

"Overpriced hotel with terrible soft, spongy mattresses"

"Upon entering, the room smelt strongly of mould and damp. There was mould all over the bedroom window and the smell also came from the bathroom. The bathroom door latch didn't work, so the door didn't stay closed. The bathroom extractor fan is caked with dust, the bath looks like it hadn't been cleaned, the panel looks incomplete and the grouting is mouldy in the shower. The bedroom had a radio, which was also caked in dust. I have a severe allergy to dust, which immediately caused a...

"Breakfast very poor. Quality of food poor, sausages undercooked, bacon swimming in grease, fried eggs hard. Had to ask for milk, tea spoons and hot water. Coffee and hot water pot not labelled. Tables not cleaned and small bin over flowing. Room fan and 2 table lights not working . Shower gel empty on arrival. No information in room about hotel all done on a QR code.which is not practical for all."

"Useful location but very close to the A30. Nice hotel/former coaching Inn with friendly welcome. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast. The good size double room had a kettle with coffee bags, fan, hairdryer, iron and ironing board plus large TV. The mattress was a bit too firm for our comfort though."
