It's in a very good location between Bournemouth and boscombe piers. The rooms need updating and the outside of the building needs refreshing. The onsite parking is astronomical and you can pay to park outside on the road for a fraction of the price.
If you just want somewhere to sleep and shower it's a good reasonably priced option
Breakfast was good but had to walk next door for meals and all activitys. Not very good, the room was ok and clean shower was in the bath , and it wasnt very good.we would not stay there again.
The room was clean and nice. The shower doesn’t mix hot and hold water properly
Breakfast was very good but dinner was average

Outside of hotel very shabby, inside looked a lot nicer. No facilities such as catering and spa etc all had to used at their sister hotel next door. Offered sea view room at additional cost, which we did not require. When we got to our room it had a sea view anyway. Room was a good size and clean and comfortable. Parking on site offered as available on arrival yes parking available at £20 per day, no fee was mentioned in the advert, so would have been nice to know in advance, no reduction for guests staying at hotel…
Staff were very welcoming at reception. Even though the hotel could do with a paint outside, inside was very well decorated. Had a lovely room looking out to the sea. The only issue was couldnt get hot water out of the main shower, but we were only there one night so got around it

Nice room, hotel is managed by a partner hotel.
Parking is expensive with it costing £22 for 1 day - it is classed as public parking on there premises even though your a guest, superior room was basic but the view was great which was main feature of this room. Alternatively everything else is very outdated
Reception was really friendly and gave us all theinformationwe needed, check in was quick, lovely room ,quite ,bed was so comfortable, hotel was central to boscombe and bournmouth, will definitely recommend!
The hotel is not staffed properly. A makeshift reception not manned all the time. No facilities such as bar, restaurant, pool etc. All facilities are at the sister Hotel down the road. The room was 30 degrees plus and no air conditioning. Two pathetic fans offered virtually no air movement. This place is just a room and not as advertised. The whole experience was terrible and I feel sorry for people who have booked in good faith especially families attending for a summer vacation. We saw people with disabilities struggling up steps to access with no assistance from staff. They also had to walk to the sister hotel for any drinks, food or other amenities. Most guests had complaints. There is cleaning on request for rooms but communal areas were not regularly cleaned. A very poor experience and my advice is do not book. The most horrendous experience and parking cost me an extra £35. Parking is not included in the booking. I feel I have been duped and am seeking redress from the company I arranged my stay with. Do not stay at this hotel it is a shambles.

Room was beautiful and the gentleman at the check in with glasses was so welcoming and really lovely and kindly and showed me to the sister hotel so nice of the gentleman generally all the had a lovely welcome so what can I say fabulous
We had a large ground floor room close to the lift. We had a great sea view. The room had a large double bed, and a second area had a sofa which was made up into a small double be. There were towels and toiletries in the bathroom. There was an iron in the room, a fan hair drier and TV. The room also had a kettle, and tea/coffee making facilities. WIFI was good. The man at reception gave us information, and having read previous reviews we knew that we would have to use its sister hotel next door, for food, drinks and we were also able to use the pool and spa. Car park cost £20.00 but you can park for less on the road outside of the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel looks shabby outside but you don't sleep outside! Yes its a little dated inside, but you cannot complain for what you are paying. We had breakfast in the hotel next door, and it was quite nice there. The pool was lovely, and the gentleman behind the bar was really great, this was the evening of 5/07. He was so helpful, an absolute asset to the Carlton! We had no issues in the East Cliff. If you want a 5 star hotel then go elsewhere and pay a 5 star price. We had absolutely no complaints. Not sure though I would pay a higher price though, we had a fab deal through Expedia for two rooms. It cost less than the usual price of one room
A nice old place on waterfront - a bit tired looking but inside all functions as well as expected for an old hotel .
Lovely helpful staff .
Basic bathroom that was very used and ready for refurb .
