"This was a very nice clean location. Only down fall was the fact the fan in the room wasn’t that great down the unexpected hot weather, as the room was extremely hot. Other than that it was a great place."

"What a wonderful place to stay! We were delayed in our travels and arrived after the kitchen had closed. The staff were very kind and accommodating and made us a lovely dinner. The food was exceptional! Additionally our room was terrific with a great shower. We will definitely return to do some hill walking nearby. Only wish we had stayed longer!"

"Loved the position of the hotel , on the canal so we could walk along the to-path into the centre , which was a short walk . You could see the canal boats go by. The room was clean , well maintained & very comfortable . Daily maid service was extremely efficient . We had a problem with the television which was dealt with as soon as we informed the staff. Breakfast was great, my husband had the full Yorkshire breakfast which he said was brilliant , I had continental , there was lots of choice &...

"Lovely hotel / pub in a very scenic location. Beautiful views. We had 2 cottages for our extended family group of 7 adults/ 4 children. Spent the afternoon enjoying the patio drinks and watching the water flow. Had a delicious Sunday dinner in the lovely upper dining room. Beds were comfortable and had everything we needed . Would definitely stay again ."

"Didn’t like having the risk of leaving the key in the separate though private bathroom. No staff available. Though we didn’t use the Lounge or cutlery/ crockery the amenities nay well be useful for others. Place ok for a budget stay. Area was beautiful"

"Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. Really comfortable bed. Luxurious bathroom. Nice sitting room with tv. Receptionist was lovely and really helpful. Breakfast cooked to order, was fantastic. Dinner just down the road at The Fence gate Inn, literally 100 yards away."

"The property is an old building and we both thought that the rooms could do with a bit of an update - the bathrooms were very modern. The rooms and hotel were spotless, the staff were absolutely superb - so kind, helpful and polite. It was a lovely idea to have free bottles of water at reception when we arrived with the weather being hot.
