The hotel was set in a beautiful part of the country, the receptionist was pleasant and informative. We had a lovely clean and nicely decorated room with good storage in keeping with the hotels age. The bathroom was clean and effective with a walk in shower. The room had good security on the door, a safe and fridge would make good additions.Parking was excellent.

The hotel is very beautiful, with a lovely view over the countryside. The communal areas are very pleasant, the restaurant, the garden and the room next to the bar are perfect for relaxing and reading. The staff are helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and well-equipped. I had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel. The dinner menu was also good. The location is a 15–20-minute walk from the town centre. Just bear in mind that it’s at the top of a hill, so some people might find it easier to use a car or taxi. I liked the location as it was still close to town yet peaceful, just as I wanted.

The room was dated but spacious and as shown in the photos. The reception staff were kind and attentive, which was appreciated. However, there was significant noise in family room 43 during our stay (1 night). It sounded like water running through the pipes or a boiler, and it was VERY loud. The noise appeared to stop only after all guests in the hotel had finished showering and started again in the morning, which made it impossible to sleep. The receptionist came to take a look and mentioned that the boiler had been restarted and that this might have caused the noise, but the issue continued even after the restart.
