"Carpet in the room had dried stains of food on it. Hair all over the bathroom sink and floor. Made me question if the bathroom was cleaned prior to our arrival. Sheets were wrinkled, wonder if they were changed. "

"I cannot say enough good things about the front desk staff at the Hilton Garden Inn Lubbock. Aubrey, the night audit checked us in on our arrival after a super long day. I mentioned we were in town for George Strait and not only having to change hotels for the next night, but also had to travel 40 miles north of town due to lack of availability. Aubrey took my name, room number, and cell number and also encouraged me to check with the staff the next day. Rose Mariah was sweet in checking for rooms multiple times Friday morning as well as escalating any questions to Matthew. Matthew was able to work us in so we were able to stay in our room an extra night at an agreed upon price. Their kindness, and encouragement to “keep checking back. Don’t feel like you’re being annoying, because you’re not” saved us a 40 minute drive after a late concert, and a 40 minute drive back in the wee hours of the morning to catch our flight at 6:40am! Matthew also asked if we would need any housekeeping services. I mentioned we could use towels but it wasn’t a big deal if it did not happen. Upon our return to the room after the concert our bathroom had been fully refreshed and I was able to take a nice shower with fresh towels. Everything was so easily and politely handled. Thank you. I will always recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Lubbock!"

"I am little disappointed in this stay. The TV didn't work. The lights in the room had defective light bulbs, there was no ice machine on our floor and the shower flow was barely a stream. This is unusual for the hotel brand. But this was a disappointing experience. Staff was as accommodating as they could be but just couldn't overcome these deficiencies."

"The room was outdated. The ac control panel was old and loose from the wall. The fact that in order for the shower to come on the spout had to be pulled down that was unsanitary. The staff was ok. The towels were thin and had a brown stain on them"

"It’s a beautiful hotel filled with plants. Breakfast was well organized and delicious. The room we stayed in needed some maintenance as the hotel was in the process of remodeling. Our a/c did not work well. We checked in around 6:00 and our room was at 80’. The room never did cool off. We were exhausted and decided to tough it out. When I called the front desk the next morning to tell them the room needed maintenance, he was dismissive and didn’t even ask what needed fixing. I told him that our room stayed warm and that the a/c was not working…he told me that they would have sent a maintenance man last night to fix the problem if we called then. Not the answer I was looking for. "

"The front desk staff is definitely the best thing about this hotel. The front area was very clean. But the elevators were dirty, one of them did not work at all. I had an infestation of ants in my bathroom that was not addressed after asking for someone to clean them up. There was mold in the tub basin. The ants were coming from cracks within the tub basin area. Light fixtures were missing with wires exposed. Mold all over the ceiling, the toilet seat was at least 15 years old. The size of the room was very nice. However, the carpet also smelled moldy. The air-conditioning did not work the first night until six the next morning. I had to ask for the Wi-Fi password and did not get it until the next day. These things should’ve already been provided at check-in. While I typically like best westerns, I will not be returning to this location."
